DEDUCE - Duke Enterprise Data Unified Content Explorer

View the recording of this event.

Dr. Ferranti will describe the recently released DEDUCE system. DEDUCE is an on-line tool for Duke clinicians. DEDUCE provides access to the data in Duke's Decision Support Repository (DSR), i.e. clinical data from operational systems serving each of our hospitals.

The core of the DSR is an Oracle database consisting of hundreds of tables, some of which contain hundreds of millions of rows. The goal of the DEDUCE portal is to allow users with no previous database experience to extract data from the DSR whilst maintaining patient privacy.

DEDUCE provides access to both de-identified and identified data, e.g. data for Duke Internal Quality and Safety Operations, data for IRB approved research, and data for IRB approved access Preparatory to Research. Access DEDUCE via http://dsrresearcher.duhs.duke.edu/DSRQB
