DTRI Immune Monitoring Laboratory
Kent J. Weinhold, PhD - Director
The Duke Translational Research Institute (DTRI) Immune Monitoring Laboratory is a GCLP-compliant laboratory that provides support for basic, translational, and clinical investigations. The lab focuses on assessing subtle effects on the human immune system (immunogenicity, immunocompetence, immune reconstitution, immunotoxicity, and immunopathology) of particular importance in trials of vaccines, cellular therapy, drug therapy, cancer immunotherapy, and auto-immune disorders.
The lab currently offers a number of formally validated and/or standardized immunoassays. In addition, the laboratory has the capability to perform assay development, optimization, standardization, and validation.
The DTRI Immune Monitoring Laboratory encourages investigators to utilize the laboratory as early as possible in the clinical trial process to ensure data are reproducible, calibrated, and consistent across the entire product lifecycle.
The DTRI Immune Monitoring Laboratory supports
- “First-in-man” translational studies originating in the laboratories of Duke Investigators
- Clinical trials conducted through the DTRI Clinical Vaccine Unit
- Immune monitoring needs of Duke Investigators conducting site-based research or coordinating multi-center studies
- NIH CTSA consortium studies
- Commercial sponsors
The DTRI Immune Monitoring Laboratory currently does not support animal studies.
