Through Duke's Institute for Genome Sciences & Policy (IGSP), researchers are leading the effort to develop a national resource for the spectrum of technologies that includes genomics, genetic polymorphism analysis, gene expression analysis, proteomics, and metabolomics. In addition, scientists at the Sarah W. Stedman Nutrition and Metabolism Center are focused on understanding metabolic regulatory mechanisms and applying this knowledge to gain insight into chronic conditions and diseases such as obesity and diabetes.
