Community Engagement Consultative Service (CECS)

Up one level Last modified January 04, 2010 12:16 PM - EST

The Community Engagement Consultative Service (CECS) is an online listing of best practices and experts in community engagement, and a consultation service that will provide guidance on how sites can more effectively work with communities, building on the unique strengths of each. The CECS consultative service is available to CTSAs in collaboration with their community partners.

CECS addresses two of the goals of the national CTSA Consortium’s priorities:

  • Develop an effective national model for community engagement (Goal #8)
  • Develop a coordinated/federated approach to career development, training and education across the spectrum of translational and clinical disciplines (Goal #2)

Note to CTSA's: All forms related to your consultant visits scheduled or completed in 2009 must be submitted by FEBRUARY 15, 2010.

The Community Engagement Consultative Service (CECS) will help CTSA sites to exchange best practices and collectively strengthen their capacity for Community Engagement.

As a CTSA site, you will have the opportunity to invite a consultant, with community engaged research experience, for a one-time visit to address your specific community engaged research needs. Please review the detailed information about selecting a CE consultant.

You will need to log in to the CECS site in order to access the assessments and also to review any content that has been submitted for your site.

CECS accounts will be e-mailed to each individual CTSA site Community Engagement (CE) Lead by the DCRIWeb account.

CE Leads may distribute the account information to members of their site’s CE team.
